Kenneth T. Rosenberg, B.A., LL.B.

On July 1, 2001 Mr. Rosenberg left the Gowlings Law Firm where he had practiced since 1981 to become a founding partner in the 20 plus lawyer firm of Paliare Roland Rosenberg Rothstein LLP (“PRRR”).

Mr. Rosenberg has more than 20 years experience as an advocate in Business Law and Administrative Law matters. His practice involves him in matters before all levels of court, administrative tribunals, and government agencies. As part of his advocacy practice, Mr. Rosenberg also acts a mediator and arbitrator in commercial disputes.

From 1985 to 1988 Mr. Rosenberg worked for three different Ministries as an Executive Assistant to the Minister – the Ministry of Consumer and Commercial Relations, the Ministry of Financial Institutions and the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Technology.

BANKRUPTCY, CCAA AND BUSINESS RESTRUCTURING
From 1981 to 1985 he acted on behalf of banks and secured lenders placing and enforcing security. While in government, he was involved in regulating financial institutions and promoting investment in and restructuring of Ontario industry.

After returning to private practice in 1988, he continued his restructuring and insolvency practice and has acted for labour unions and pensioners debtor companies, secured and unsecured creditors, trustees, receivers and monitors.

Examples of current files include acting for the Air Line Pilots Association in the Air Canada CCAA proceedings; and the U.S.W.A., in the Stelco, Ivaco and Slater CCAA proceedings. He also regularly acts for the PWU with respect to the ongoing restructuring of Ontario’s electricity industry.


Stephen Wahl

An accomplished advocate for trade unions, Stephen Wahl has championed labour interests in all sectors of the economy - from construction to manufacturing, and from the public service to the airline industries.

Steve has built an outstanding reputation for his effective counsel on behalf of trade unions before both the Ontario and Canada Labour Relations Boards in the acquisition and retention of bargaining rights, in unfair labour practice proceedings and related employer and sale-of-business matters.

In addition, Steve represents trade unions in the administration of collective agreements, both in grievance arbitrations and judicial review proceedings. His expertise is also recognized in the areas of employment standards, occupational health and safety, unemployment insurance and workers' compensation. He is a recognized leader in bankruptcy and insolvency employee/collective bargaining representation.

Steve is a frequent writer and lecturer on labour law issues for the trade union community, professional, academic and continuing education groups including lecturing on Industrial Conflict in the Masters of Law Programme at Osgoode Hall Law School.

A long-time contributor to the work of the Labour Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association - Ontario, Steve has brought his advocacy experience and remarkable interpersonal skills to all aspects of its executive, including the position of Chair.
